Well, it is a choice that everyone has to make at some point in time. It was written as such "The gift of God is Eternal life, the payment for sin is death". It seemed simple enough to me. You choose.
Why most people chose death is odd to me. Jesus said that "I died so that you would not have to", but most people wanted to prove God wrong. Either that they would or would not get up, but again, that was your choice. Jesus told you to work out your soul salvation with fear and trembling. It was a reason for that. Once you found out who you really were from the soul, the news might frighten or surprise you. Hence the reason for stating "take one day at a time.".
Anyway, God is not holding anybody at fault for not coming to Heaven. Jesus told you I was coming back to earth anyway, "the earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof." Even if the world had to be created sinful, hey, God ain't alone anymore and got a lot to see and a lot of loving to do.
So, Welcome to the world that you helped create for Jesus. This is Heaven and yes there is a Hell that looks just like this world, but you must die to go there.
Just believe in Love, that's all God asked you to do.
